Delete Account or Data

This page explains how to delete your InciSmart account, and how to delete some or all of your data without deleting your account. InciSmart is a skincare ingredient analysis app operated by Ieva Jonaityte, an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. If you have any questions, contact support@incismart.co.uk.

1. Delete your account and all data

In the app. Open the app's settings and choose "Log out and delete data". This permanently deletes the data stored on your device and removes your authentication record from our systems in one step. This is the fastest and most complete way to delete your account.

By email. Email support@incismart.co.uk from the email address linked to your account, with the subject "Delete my account". We will delete your authentication record from our systems within 30 days and confirm by email. Because your app data is stored only on your device, you should also use the in-app option above, or uninstall the app, to remove it.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

2. Delete some of your data, without deleting your account

You can remove parts of your data at any time while staying signed in. In the app you can delete saved items, clear your scan history, and unselect your skin profile categories. These changes take effect immediately on your device.

3. What is deleted

Your authentication record: the Google or Apple sign-in held in Firebase Authentication. This is the only identifiable information we hold about you.

Your skin profile, skin concerns and ingredient preferences.

Your saved products, favourites, and scan and search history.

These last two are stored only on your device, so they are removed by the in-app option or by uninstalling the app.

4. What is kept, and for how long

Anonymised product database contributions. Any products or ingredient lists you submitted to the shared product database are kept indefinitely. They carry a random anonymised ID, contain no information that identifies you, and cannot be linked back to you or your account.

Crash logs and anonymised usage statistics. These are held by Firebase (Google) for limited periods defined by Google, and are then deleted or anonymised.

Legal records. Where the law requires us to keep limited records, we keep only what is necessary and for no longer than required.

5. Export your data

You can export a copy of your data at any time using the export option in the app's settings.
