Delete Account or Data

This page outlines how to delete your InciSmart account and manage your skincare data effectively, including options to delete some or all of your data without losing your account. InciSmart is a skincare ingredient analysis app developed by Ieva Jonaityte, an individual developer based in the United Kingdom. For any inquiries, please reach out to support@incismart.co.uk.

1. Delete your account and all data

In the app. Open Profile → About the app and select "Delete account and all data". This action permanently deletes the data stored on your device and removes your authentication record from our systems in a single step, making it the quickest and most thorough method for InciSmart account deletion.

By email. To request account deletion, email support@incismart.co.uk from the email linked to your account, with the subject line "Delete my account". We will erase your authentication record from our systems within 30 days and notify you via email. Since your app data is only saved on your device, remember to use the in-app option mentioned above or uninstall the app to completely remove it.

Please note: Deletion is final and cannot be reversed.

2. Delete some of your data without deleting your account

You can manage and remove certain parts of your skincare data at any time while remaining signed in. Within the app, you can delete saved items, clear your scan history, and unselect your skin profile categories. These changes will take effect immediately on your device.

3. What is deleted

Your authentication record, specifically the Google or Apple sign-in held in Firebase Authentication, is the only identifiable information we store about you.

Additionally, your skin profile, skin concerns, and ingredient preferences will be removed, along with your saved products, favourites, and scan/search history. These last two sets of information are stored only on your device and will be deleted via the in-app option or by uninstalling the app.

4. What is kept, and for how long

Anonymised product database contributions that you submit, such as products or ingredient lists, are stored indefinitely with a random anonymised ID, which does not identify you or link back to your account.

Crash logs and anonymised usage statistics are held by Firebase (Google) for limited periods defined by Google, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

Legal records mandated by law are retained only as necessary and for the minimum duration required.

5. Export your data

You can export a copy of your skincare data at any time using Export my data (Profile → About the app).
